Betable Scores Major Funding to Build the Future of Real-Money PlayBetable, a thriving platform that enables developers to legally offer real-money play in their own games, announced this week that it has raised new venture capital funding to support its plan to build what the company calls “the future of real-money play.”

And what a bright future it is.

Betable has just secured $18.5 million in Series A Funding, led By Venture51 with Greylock and Founders Fund participating.

Licensed by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission and certified by industry leading 3rd party testing houses, Betable’s platform is designed to essentially remove barriers to entry for game developers including years of complicated legal issues, compliance challenges and equally monumental licensing fees.

Through its API, developers can use Betable’s game engine to build real-money mechanics and integrate them easily into new or existing games.

“Betable is the only way for game developers to legally offer real-money play without spending millions of dollars on licenses or relinquishing control of their own games,” says Christopher Griffin, Founder & CEO of Betable. “This funding enables us to grow our team, introduce new features and support developers who are building on our platform. Our goal is to remove all of the obstacles that impede developers from offering real-money play, so that they can focus on what they do best: building great games.”
