Today, Bitcoin is emerging not only as an acceptable but also a popular method of payment that many online and even brick-and-mortar businesses are starting to welcome.
In a recent announcement, US-based DerbyJackpot.com shared that they will now be accepting Bitcoin as a method of payment for their online gambling website.
This is the first regulated online gambling website to accept digital currency. Until now, the vast majority of gambling websites that accepted Bitcoin as currency were underground sites (that accepted Bitcoin only) or were sites that blocked US-based gamblers.
This reality, however, was not the product of a hasty decision. In fact, Bitcoin Magazine confirms that DerbyJackpot founder and CEO Steve Beauregard spent the last 18 months researching and educating gaming and financial regulators around the globe about Bitcoin.
GoCoin will be DerbyJackpot’s Bitcoin Payment processor, as they are the payment processor who was the most responsive to their unique compliance requirements.
