Gabelli analyst, Camillo Schmidt-Chiari, says that he expects online gambling, “to slow to 5.7% through 2017, which is still better than the global gambling industry’s projected 4.3%, but this average misses the big opportunity presented by mobile gaming.”

Well, according to Online Poker Report, it is getting closer and closer. According to a tweet from GamblingCompliance’s Chris Krafcik he tweeted, “#NewJersey DGE confirmed yesterday it was in licensing discussions with PayPal.”

That’s right. For you Back to the Future 2 fans, online sports gambling may have developed their own version of Gray’s Sports Almanac. For clarification, this is not a program that can predict the future (which would be awesome). In a follow-up survey conducted in January NJ.com explains that Commercial Intelligence, “Polled 520 New Jersey online gamblers to get a better idea of the habits of the players in the market. What they found was significantly fewer players were using illegal, offshore sites in January.” They continue to say that the percentage of people who used these ‘offshore sites’ dropped from 24% to 16%.”
