That’s because MGM Resorts International has just announced plans to launch a mobile wagering system across 12 of its Nevada resorts sometime in 2015.

“The technology will be provided by GTECH Holdings,” noted Howard Stutz in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

“The initial use of the technology will be to provide mobile sports wagering this summer. GTECH’s system will modernize the casino operator’s sports book operations to include live in-play betting.”

The system won’t just offer in-play wagering. Once launched, it will allow MGM Resorts customer to place bets via mobile devices from anywhere in Nevada. GTECH will also develop technology letting MGM Resorts customers “play real money gaming on their mobile devices on slots and table games from anywhere inside a company property.”
