Demand for Colocation Space, Services by Online Gambling Operators Expected to GrowAccording to a new report published in recent days by Research and Markets, DCD Intelligence (DCDi) expects that the demand for colocation space and services by online gambling operators “will continue to grow to support increasing numbers of players.”

What will drive the increase?

Growth is the inevitable outcome as more markets legalize online gambling.

Consequently, as more people reach the legal gambling age and more mobile devices enable people to play online from anywhere and at any time, the growth will accelerate.

“However, we expect that growth will be steady rather than a big leap forwards because such factors will result in the substitution of players from offshore to legalized markets, from land-based to online options, and from fixed to mobile devices,” the report summary reads. “Demand will also be tempered as operators use technologies such as virtualization and flashbased storage to reduce their space and power requirements, even as the number of players and the amount of data collected from them grow.”
