FanDuel Acquires Sports Analytics FirmThe folks at FanDuel Inc. tell mGamingWatch that they have a made a strategic acquisition about which they are particularly excited.

The largest one-day fantasy sports operator, Fanduel has acquired numberFire, a next generation sports analytics platform that “uses proprietary statistics to mine for unprecedented insights that predict player and team performance.”

If you’re not familiar, numberFire’s editorial team publishes the data on their website, while the company’s analytics and tools are available to sports fans through subscriptions and media companies through licensing.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed as of this writing.

“numberFire’s demonstrated ability to grow a business around sports data, engage their users, create compelling content and support the fantasy industry makes them an ideal complement to FanDuel,” says Nigel Eccles, CEO and co-founder of FanDuel. “It’s our intention to build a multiplatform sports entertainment company, and joining numberFire and FanDuel creates the opportunity to meaningfully grow both businesses while providing fantasy sports users the best tools around.”
