High Tech Security Chasing High Tech Cheating in CasinosWith the advancement of technology, cheating in casinos is becoming a high tech business which is driving up the business for high tech security.

Calvinayre.com recently covered a New Jersey resident who was busted at the Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut for putting an invisible “ink-like substance” on cards that only he could see with a special pair of infrared contact lenses.

The alleged suspect had been convicted in other states and wanted in yet another state for similar scams.

Similarly, the Asian market is investing more in high-tech security as scams are being uncovered. A couple of the reported cons include mini-cameras being hidden in card shuffling machines and mini-cameras being stealthily placed up sleeves.

One place that is believed to be taking the high tech cheating threat seriously is Macau which has about 100,000 security cameras in their casinos and more on the way. The General Manager for the Asia Region at Dallmeier International Ltd., Craig Graham, is quoted as saying about security in the Macau region: “It’s probably the most demanding environment for a video surveillance system anywhere in the world.”

Macau has been ahead of the standard to date, even outpacing America casino’s including those in Las Vegas.

As security experts attest, cheaters are often looking for newer casinos that have systems and operators who may not be as experienced. This has led the industry to live up to what is described as the “Macau standard.”
