The latest gaming industry heavyweight to make Asia a higher priority is IGT.
According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, International Game Technology has inked a deal with Macau-based game distributor LT Game.
The partnership, we’re told, “could further open the Asian market to the company’s slot machines.”
The arrangement will enable LT Game to distribute IGT slot machines and other game-related materials and content to regional Asian casinos.
Deutsche Bank gaming analyst Carlo Santarelli is quoted in the report acknowledging what could ultimately prove to be a very shrewd move by IGT, given that few domestic slot machine makers have successfully penetrated Macau.
“This partnership better positions IGT to capitalize on this opportunity,” Santarelli explains. “We believe the complementary product offerings and the ability to garner incremental local expertise and rely on local relationships for distribution will be a distinct positive for both parties.”
