Kentucky to Deliver a Losing Hand to Online and Mobile GamblingOf the myriad states actively working toward the possibility of introducing online gambling to residents in 2015, don’t count Kentucky among them.

In fact, the state of Kentucky may prevent the discussion from even moving forward with the introduction of a bill that could effectively outlaw online gambling.

Kentucky State Senator Mike Wilson’s proposed bill, BR229, is on deck for the 2015 legislative session, according to CardPlayer. The goal? To mitigate the scope of Internet gaming cafes that have flourished across Kentucky and provided an outlet for illegal gambling.

“What they’ve done is they’ve taken away the charitable gaming from people like our veterans who are the VFW and the American Legion, which I’m a member there also. As well as, the Knights of Columbus, it’s really hurt them big time,” Wilson is quoted in the report.

Based on interpretations of the bill, the proposed law would restrict “electronic device[s] used to facilitate Internet gambling.”
