State lawmakers have curtailed – at least temporarily – the momentum of iGaming in the state of Massachusetts.

As we first reported last week, Amaya Gambling from Montreal, Canada has acquired the largest online poker room in the world, Poker Stars. The Isle of Man-based business, operating as the Rational Group Ltd., agreed to be acquired by Amaya Gaming Group Inc. for an estimated $4.9 billion dollars.

With revenue from land-based properties and online casino platforms struggling to make headway as the second half of 2014 looms on the horizon, casino and gaming industry marketers are turning their marketing efforts toward more highly targeted markets.
