Nevada, Delaware Forge Interstate Online Gambling AgreementThe states of Nevada and Delaware are taking a joint gamble on a groundbreaking interstate online gambling agreement.

As two of just three states to have legalized online gambling to date, the governors of Nevada and Delaware have reached an agreement allowing residents in those states to play against one another inside of virtual poker rooms, the AP confirms.

The deal should expand liquidity within the online poker industry, allowing for more opportunities and competition to enter the market.

While Nevada is only allowing its residents to play online poker so far, the agreement offers the possibility of additional games. It also could allow for additional states to sign up as members of a multi-state Internet gaming association.

“The possibilities that are ahead of us are truly extraordinary,” Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval said in a statement Tuesday. “The agreement we’ve signed today provides the tools and the structure necessary for us to pioneer this expanding industry together, as states and as partners.”

We’re told that the interstate agreement will be overseen by an association formed as a Delaware limited liability company. Additionally, there will be a governing board that consists of one representative from each state.
