NJ Trial Period Saw 17,000 Online GamblersFrom November 21st-26th, the state of New Jersey permitted limited online wagering as a precursor to yesterday’s statewide launch of real money online gambling.

According to published reports Wednesday, 17,000 people placed online bets during the soft launch period.

David Rebuck, director of the state Division of Gaming Enforcement, told the AP that’s how many people “had placed bets online from last Thursday to this past Monday.”

Additionally, during the trial run, the state added approximately 3,000 new users per day.

“It looks like people are keen to play,” admits Anna Sainsbury, CEO of GeoComply “I think the launch of I-gaming in New jersey has been a huge success.”

In the coming days, more statistics regarding the initial rate of gameplay and adoption of these platforms across the state should be revealed.
