Online, Mobile Gambling 'Shellshocked'According to a new report published Thursday by The Hill, the online gambling sector is being negatively impacted in a widespread fashion by Shellshock.

“A bug in nearly 70 percent of all Internet-connected devices is being used to create botnets that can remotely lock or lift data from computers, phones, medical devices or anything connected to the Web,” today’s report reads.

However, it’s the world of online gambling where the most targets are found, and presumably the most damage is being done.

Cloud services firm Akamai says the bug, known as Shellshock, can allow hackers to gain remote access to someone’s connected device and do untold damage through that access.

According to today’s report, the National Institute of Standards and Technology rate the threat of Shellshock as a 10 out of 10.
