The Poker Player’s Alliance Takes on Anti-Gambling PoliticiansIn a bold play, the Poker Players’ Alliance (PPA) has released a list of politicians, twenty-two names in total, that have come out against the legalization of online gambling in the United States. Some of the most prominent names include Senator Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, and Florida Governor Rick Scott.

The list is intended to allow those who are proponents for online gambling, especially the everyday person who is in favor of legalization, to contact those who are opposed to it. For those who want to pursue legalization, the recent shift away from Democratic majority could be a major blow. The PPA believes taking action now, telling politicians that their constituents want to legalize online gambling, is the best way to promote the cause.

The statement that the PPA released along with the list reads: “Over the past year, these ‘jokers’ have advocated for federal and/or state prohibitions for Internet poker. Some have even sought to criminalize those who play … We hope you will take the time to contact these lawmakers before Election Day … and let your voice be heard. It’s time to take the ‘jokers’ out of the deck!”
