PokerStars Prepares UK Gamblers For The Upcoming Changes To Online GamblingThe Gambling Licensing and Advertising Act 2014 is soon to go into effect in the UK, and online poker room PokerStars is taking a proactive approach by letting gamblers know what to expect ahead of time.

When new and existing gamblers login to PokerStars, they will be met with a memo that helps them understand the new law and how it applies to them.

One of the most noteworthy changes is that gambling companies will now have to pay a 15% Point of Consumption tax, which 161 companies have applied for. Overall, the goals of the new law are to protect consumers and regulate online gambling.

While many are still contesting the new laws and regulations, the Mirror reports that PokerStars is ensuring everyone that they are in compliance. They are no longer allowing gamblers to “auto-rebuy” and UK site users are no longer allowed to gamble in their French online casino.
