Sizmek Draws a Full House with Real Time Campaign and AnalyticsPokerStars — the world’s largest poker site (together with its “European Poker Tour”) — is one of the world’s most lucrative and popular destinations for poker aficionados.

To increase awareness and goose engagement for a recent tour, PokerStars recently wanted to draw as many eyes to an exciting live stream as possible.

What did Poker Stars do?

“(The company) worked with Sizmek and DSP MediaMath to launch an innovative real-time campaign that combined programmatic buying, expandable dynamic creative ad units with live video, and analytics from Sizmek,” according to a post at Sizmek’s website.

The campaign ran across nine European markets by serving localized versions of the webcast within an expandable ad unit.

What happened?

Purportedly, the European Poker Tour’s most successful tournament ever. A greater number of fans watched the live stream than ever before.

Additionally, the site boasted 1.3 million impressions and an average dwell rate of 79 seconds – more than twice the benchmark average.

That, said Sizmek execs, was a king-sized success.
