Social Mobile Gaming Giant Rakes in Big Cash from In-Game AdsWhether you have a casino mobile game or a social gaming experiment, Zynga is proving once and for all that in-game ads can be very, very profitable for game makers.

In the most recent quarter for which we have earnings data, Zynga ranked in $57.5 million from ads (or 30% of its Q4 revenue).

Ignored by many due to the perceived bad user experience provided by banner ads, the rise of native advertising, incentivized video ads and now brand advertising is changing opinions.

“Q4 advertising revenues were up 55 percent quarter-on-quarter and up 139 percent year-on-year,” PoketGamer notes. “Across the entire 2014 financial year, Zynga generated $153 million; or around 20 percent of all revenue.”

With freemium mobile casino and social games all the rage, Zynga is illustrating with crystal clarity that going free may be the most profitable move of all for game makers who smartly monetize their apps with the right in-game ads.
