Time to Re-tool That Marketing Online Poker Revenues Dropping in New JerseyThe New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement is painting an abysmal portrait of the state of online poker in New Jersey, corroborated by new data put forward by the team at PokerFuse.

For the first time in New Jersey’s eleven month online gambling run, revenues dropped below $2 million in October (the second consecutive declining month).

The Borgata, which operates on, and carries the license for the partypoker network, reported $1,056,711 in revenue, a 9.21% decrease from September. Caesars which operates the WSOP.com brand, and carries the license for the 888 poker network, held steady with a mere .37% dip.

As the report confirms, 54% of the market share is generated by Borgata and the other 46% is generated under the Caesars license. Caesars has gained a 2% market share over the previous month when it held 44% of the market.

Overall, online poker revenues reported for October are down 5.63% from September

Although Ultimate Poker halting operations in September likely impacted October’s numbers in a severe way, there appears to be a bigger underlying problem (ahem, poor marketing!), as evidenced by the fact that overall online gaming revenues fell to $9.5 million in October from $10 million reported in September.
