Will California Be Next to Legalize Online GamblingWith Delaware, New Jersey, and Nevada firmly entrenched among the early state adopters of legalized online gambling, the big question remains which state will be next to join the party?

The answer, most industry watchers believe, lies out West.

While many states are at least weighing the pros and cons of the revenue they can generate from gambling tax, implementing and regulating online gambling is no small feat.

So even though there are many states taking an in-depth look at what online gambling has to offer them, it looks as though California may be the next to actually love forward and legalize online gambling.

However, online poker is likely to be California’s only option.

One of California’s largest challenges is that they have already struggled to keep illegal online poker under control. Currently there is a partnership with the Morongo Band of Mission Indians and PokerStars. The challenge that arises is PokerStars has been actively pursuing online gambling since it was banned in 2006.

However, the two Morongo Band of Mission Indians casinos have a clean record, and look forward to the potential of revenue from the addition of online poker. Each casino plans on launching two online poker sites.

California is now working to ensure that online gamblers from out of state will not be able to access their online offerings. They will likely utilize the same geolocation safeguards that proved to be successful in Nevada, Delaware, and New Jersey.
