Winning Poker Network Waves the White Flag in U.S. Online, Mobile GamblingChris Grove of the Online Poker Report says Winning Poker Network (WPN) is “suspending the ability of customers” in the three U.S. states where online and mobile gambling is regulated and permissible (New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware) to play for real money at WPN.

The suspension, we’re told, is “effective immediately.” According to a statement from the company, the emergence of regulated options in these particular states provided the logic behind the network’s decision to close up shop. As a result, Grove continues, the “list of unregulated poker sites willing to serve customers in regulated American markets just got shorter by one.”

“Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey have stepped up to allow their respective residents to play on licensed, local State poker sites,” an email from WPN reads. “Accordingly, the Winning Poker Network has determined to decline offering services to residents seeking to play from those three States which have expressly legalized online poker, effective immediately.”

Until now, WPN has been the third-largest online poker network still serving U.S. customers.
