Wynn Won’t Welcome Online PokerBillionaire casino mogul Steve Wynn continues to hold his ground on his stance with online poker. To be specific, Wynn is against online poker that uses real money. If someone wants to gamble by playing poker, Wynn would rather them to do it in a brick and mortar casino (preferably one with his name on it) instead of online.

A bill banning online gambling is being pushed through Congress. However, there are certain parts exempt from the bill. One example is person-to-person poker, which is already a big hit in Nevada. Because it is already in existence, it would be exempt. Lotteries would also be exempt because they are state-run.

Currently, Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware have legalized online poker. Even though the threat is lingering around on Capitol Hill, California and Pennsylvania are also discussing legalizing online poker before the bill becomes law.

Still with all the debate as to whether online poker would be good for the United States economy, Wynn has planted firmly against it. According to cardplayer.com Wynn said, “I don’t think it has any chance of getting through the House of Representatives, and even if it did, it would at the behest, at the encouragement, of the state lottery boards who want to go into that business. I am not going to get into [online gaming]. We’ll get blamed if anything goes wrong.”
