AGA Infographic Details Massive Amount of Illegal Super Bowl BettingAre you willing to bet that illegal Super Bowl-related betting is big business here in the United States? If so, you would be placing a very safe bet, indeed.

A freshly published first-ever estimate by the American Gaming Association (AGA) indicates that Americans were poised to make $3.8 billion worth of illegal bets on this year’s Super Bowl.

“That figure stands in stark contrast to the approximately $100 million bet legally on the Super Bowl each year,” the AGA says. “In fact, the illegal market is 38 times greater than the legal one.”

“Current law banning sports betting is clearly failing,” argues Geoff Freeman, CEO of the AGA. “The AGA is closely examining the current state of sports betting, the laws that govern it and the best way forward for the gaming industry.”
