The owner of PokerStars is taking a shot at daily fantasy sports, saying this growth industry needs more than the self-regulatory practices that arguably haven’t worked out well so far.
In a statement, Amaya Vice President of Corporate Communications Eric Hollreiser said daily fantasy sports needs “stricter state regulation consistent with existing state consumer protections for other gaming activities.”
Following recent scandals and accusations facing some of the largest fantasy sports sites in the world, the comments are being applauded by many.
According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Hollreiser believes that daily fantasy sports needs “stricter state regulation consistent with existing state consumer protections for other gaming activities.”
