The team at Betfair – a new and legal online casino in New Jersey – reached out to mGamingWatch today with some very interesting survey data on where NJ adults have played games on their smartphones.
We were warned that the results may shock us. And they did just that.
“We knew the growth of mobile gaming would have a big impact on our business, but we didn’t know that the fine people of NJ would be attempting to get a flush, while they flush,” a rep tells MGW.
Of the New Jersey residents (age 21-58) surveyed, Betfair asked them to “Select all the places you have played a game on your mobile device.” These were the results:
- 42% On the toilet
- 39% In bed with your partner
- 3% In the shower / bathtub
- 41% During your commute
- 47% At work
- 31% At the dinner table
- 13% At the gym
- 5% At church / temple / place of worship
As MGW reported earlier this week, online gambling may be off to a decent start in New Jersey, but the first three months of legalized gameplay haven’t been without their fair share of hitches.
In the future, however, mobile technology may be the key to accelerating the growth of this nascent market.
