Location, location, location. That’s more than just the mantra of the real estate industry. It’s also what mobile marketers may want to consider today when their online casino industry clients task them with connecting to prospective gamers.

As online gambling becomes more pervasive throughout the world, countries have begun to take a serious look at the impact of this industry, how it operates, and what kinds of regulations need to be in place in order to ensure that their citizens are not involved with shady online casinos.

While many believed that online gambling would be the future of casinos in New York State, it turns out that casino magnates are looking to open at least four more physical casinos inside the state lines in the next couple of years. However, in order to be able to operate these casinos, the corporations that build and run them are likely to pay upwards of $70 million just for the pleasure of being located in New York.

For some reason, social media marketing is not at the top of the typical marketer’s list when the time comes to begin formulating a plan for a casino-related campaign. But social media has the best engagement rates of almost any advertising platform in existence. And, best of all, social channels give you an outlet to not only connect with current customers, but to actually find new ones.

In 2011, the U.S. Department of Justice determined that the Federal Wire Act does not preclude states from adopting online gambling. And it didn’t take long for states to capitalize.
