Important Casino IT Security Talk Planned for G2E 2015Next month, IT security will be on the agenda as G2E 2015 rolls into Las Vegas.

In booth #4430 at the Global Gaming Expo, Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) will discuss “eight crucial IT checks the company’s Field Inspections Unit conducts to help casino operators and regulators prevent disaster.”

Such precautionary talks and subsequent measures, the company says, are vitally important at a time in history when a hacker “can compromise or even close a casino.’

Those vital areas outlined in a statement from GLI include:

1. Software audits
2. Security audits
3. Communication testing
4. Kiosk testing
5. Chip verification
6. Progressive system testing
7. Domain controller inspection
8. E-mail systems integrity check

“Something as simple as an unsecured power outlet could give criminals access to your entire casino – front end, back end, personnel records, customer data, your website, even cage information, which can lead to disaster,” said GLI Director of Field Inspections Bob Schrader. “At GLI, the experts in our Field Inspections Unit and Gaming Services Division can help find and correct potential weaknesses before the bad guys can do any damage. We invite regulators and operators to join us in booth #4430 at G2E to learn more.”
