According to a comprehensive report from the Las Vegas Sun, Jim has been a working as an executive in Vegas for the past 16 years, meaning he brings with him great insight as to what guests are looking for in their hotel.

While the Downtown Grand opened in 2013, Simms sees great area of opportunity when it comes to modernizing the hotel.

As the report in question notes, the hotel’s initial branding was designed to pay homage to the iconic Vegas strip of the 70s, and there are a few key tweaks that Simms believes will draw more attention to the hotel and casino.

On top of the rebranding, Simms will be marketing features that are as of yet fairly unknown. For example, the Grand has an extraordinary casino-top pool, the Picnic—complete with cabanas and food. Due to lack of marketing, few are aware of all the Picnic, or the hotel as a whole has to offer.
