Las Vegas Retailers Customizing Their Product Lines To Cater To The Fastest Growing International Travelers To The US—The ChineseAccording to the Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, Chinese tourism grew by 451 percent between 2007 and 2014. Of the approximate 2.2 million Chinese travelers that visited the US in 2014—300,000 visited Las Vegas.

While this number may not initially seem significant, the average Chinese traveler spends $3,200 per person per trip when visiting the US. It is for this reasons that many retailers on the Las Vegas strip are catering their products selections to the wants and needs of the Chinese traveler, a report from Vegas Inc explains.

On top of the rapid growth in travel from China to the states, travel rates are expected to continue to rise at a rapid rate.

General Growth Properties are one of the Las Vegas businesses catering to Chinese travelers in both their Fashion Show Mall and the Grand Canal Shoppes.

“Las Vegas is an evolving city, and we need to ensure we continue to meet the growing demands of our international customers — specifically the Chinese,” said Janet LaFevre of General Growth Properties.
