New Jersey Officials Considering Regulation of Fantasy SportsOfficials in New Jersey are taking a good look at the burgeoning world of daily fantasy sports.

According to published reports out of the East Coast, the Assembly Tourism and Gaming Committee is set to meet next week to talk about the sites that allow fantasy sports gaming and betting.

The big question is whether fantasy sports sites should be regulated.

This week, NJ State Senator Jim Whelan proposed that the Harden State’s Division of Gaming Enforcement begin licensing and regulating the fantasy sites.

“We’re not opposed to (fantasy sports). We’re not banning it,” Whelan is quoted by Press of Atlantic City. “But as of now, there’s no oversight.”

In recent weeks, NJ Gov. Chris Christie stated publicly that the regulation of fantasy sports sites is not a priority or a concern for him.
