Two-Thirds of Americans Comfortable with Mobile, Online PokerIn yet another promising indication of the American public’s growing acceptance of online gambling, a new study shows that nearly two-thirds of the U.S. population supports online poker.

The latest Reason-Rupe poll finds that a solid majority (65 percent) of Americans favor legalizing online gambling, while 32 percent think government should prohibit people from gambling in online poker games.

Support for the legalization of online gambling, however, differs among diverse age, income, and education groups.

Approximately 70 percent Americans under 55, for example, favor legalization. Only 56 percent of those over 55 support its legalization.

According to the Wall Street Journal, by 2020 online gambling will rake in as much revenue as Las Vegas and Atlantic City combined ($9.3 billion).
