Vegas Casinos Taking a Gamble on BitcoinTaking a gamble is nothing new for those in Las Vegas, including the top casinos in Sin City. And in recent days, they’ve been taking quite the risk in the realm of new-age currency.

As it turns out, a number of Las Vegas casinos are dipping their toes into Bitcoin’s waters.

The D casino and the Golden Gate have announced that customers are free to use the virtual currency when paying to stay at their hotels.

According to a report from CNET, D’s will even begin accepting Bitcoin at its restaurants and gift shop.

However, it should be noted that while these Bitcoin payment options represent a first for Las Vegas casinos, the establishments in question will not – at least for the time being – accept the virtual currency for gambling purposes.

“For us, it’s going to be somewhat exciting to see what kind of impact it’ll have,” Derek Stevens, co-owner of the two casinos, was quoted in a separate report.
