Not only is online gambling the fastest growing industry in the European Union, but the U.K. represents a significant part of this new industry. For this reason, the Gambling Business Group (CalvinAyre reports) has been created to be “the voice” of the online gambling industry within the U.K.
The Gambling Business Group consists of 50 members who are key players within the gambling industry—this includes representatives from casinos, Bingo, Pub, FEC, and AGC.
Peter Hannibal is the Chief Executive Officer, and Nick Harding is the Chairman.
The goals of the Gambling Business Group are many. Not only do they want to develop a strategic voice for gaming in the U.K. but they aim to be a resource both for gambling related business owners, but also to the Gambling Commission.
They intend to play an active role in identifying and finding resolutions for industry challenges and serve as an “advocate” for positive change and growth.
“One of our unique strengths is the ability to talk about all machine types, high stake and low stake gaming and across all sectors,” Hannibal was recently quoted. “We have already held some extremely useful and productive meetings with the Gambling Commission and we are committed to contributing to a more open and progressive dialogue with our regulators. The GBG membership is clear about the very real challenges which lie ahead and the need to engage with key stakeholders in a positive way.”
