New Jersey Lawmakers Want Online Gambling ExpandedAlthough online gambling has been legal and open for business since late November in NJ, the laws on the books that regulate online gambling in the Garden state “don’t go far enough.” As a result, some lawmakers in New Jersey want to see online gambling expanded by loosening regulations even further and focusing attention beyond state borders.

The AP confirmed Friday that two New Jersey legislators have introduced a bill that would expand Internet gambling in the state. How so? It would make it legal for the state to accept from players in other states and even countries.

The bill would allow New Jersey to “enter into reciprocal agreements with other states or countries where Internet gambling is legal. That would allow people in those places to access the 15 gambling websites run by the Atlantic City casinos.”

The legislation’s main goal is to give Atlantic City casinos access to the global Internet gambling market, something supporters of online gambling have long wanted.

“This opens up the worldwide market to us, the $30 billion Big Kahuna,” said State Senator Raymond J. Lesniak.
