PokerStars.com has confirmed that they have “detected a cheat in the mid-to-high stakes Pot Limit Omaha virtual tables.”
According to information gleaned from online-casinos.com, PokerStars will be refunding money to those who lost due to the aforementioned incident.
The company has a history of picking out cheats and refunding money to those who were affected by the wrongdoing.
There are stories across the web about various incidences that have happened with PokerStars and how they have worked to fix the problem. For instance, there is the case of Douglas Polk who was cheated when an opponent could see his hole cards. Even though PokerStars identified the problem being on Polk’s end, they still refunded the money from the opponent who was caught cheating.
PokerStars lists sites and services that it deems appropriate to use and those that are considered cheating. To the dismay of some players, the most recent alleged cheaters have not been named due to advisement from their legal team.
The Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission grants PokerStars their license. PokerStars is required to bring possible incidences to the commission for review and investigation and for them to act under their authority.
The commission highlights their “core principles” to uphold on the PokerStars site as well.
