Adrian Mateos, an 888poker endorsed player, has just won the 2013 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event Championship.
According to an announcement from 888poker, Mateo bested a field of 375 players in the Main event which had a total of €3.6 million prize pool and a €1million first prize.
We’re told that the final heads-up was against famed French poker pro, Fabrice Soulier, and lasted over 4 hours.
At only 19 years old Mateos is the 2nd youngest WSOPE bracelet winner ever and has only recently started playing poker in the last year.
Mateos has already amassed over €1.3 million in lifetime tournament winnings.
As a notable chess player, Adrian contributes the patience and strategy he uses in chess as a key factor in his success at poker which requires similar skills.
The new champ hopes to reinvest a majority of his WSOPE winnings back into his poker.
