Last week, mGamingWatch reported that Borgata – a property owned by MGM Resorts International – became the first company to receive an online gambling license by the State of New Jersey.
But Borgata now has some company.
The Golden Nugget Atlantic City also received the state’s official green light this week and a corresponding Internet gambling permit.
The permit was formally awarded to the company last night.
According to details shared with MGW, service will commence on November 26th at GoldenNuggetCasino.com and GoldenNuggetPoker.com.
Bally Technologies Inc. will power both platforms.
Lisa Spengler, a spokeswoman for the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, tells Press of Atlantic City that there is no competitive advantage to being issued a permit early as “the launch date is the same for all casinos.”
More permits are expected to be granted in the coming weeks.
