Should a game of skill rather than a game of chance still be classified as gambling? The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit is certainly not providing any concrete clarity.

It’s official. Tropicana Casino and Resort is in business with a London-based Web company called Gamesys Limited. Together, they will bring another Internet gambling option to New Jersey.

The Wall Street Journal reports that researchers believe the data used to track their customers’ gambling habits can be used as a tool to reduce the problem of gambling addiction. A group of addiction scientists and industry consultants say they can use casino customer-tracking information obtained from such sources as loyalty cards, to create computerized models that can identify and warn those with potential high risk profiles.

According to published reports surfacing this week inside of the European Union, hundreds of online gambling operators are having their access to parts of the EU marketplace effectively cut off. Due to non-compliance with the European Commission’s recommendations, just over 400 sites are being blocked from the Greek market.
