mGaming The Week’s Top StoriesHere are some of the top stories in mobile and online gaming that we’ve been monitoring in recent days.

The state of New Jersey, as we all know, formally launched its legal and regulated online gambling market in November 2013. With online gambling given a green light, all casinos are required to obtain required licenses from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) as well as secure a partnership with a brick and motor Atlantic City casino.

In October 2013, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) began enforcing a strict new set of rules governing marketing calls and text messages directed at consumers on their mobile phones.

Each month, the state of New Jersey releases statewide and individual casino earnings data to the public. While month after month online gambling revenues continue to increase in the state of New Jersey, for example, online gambling has yet to generate the amount of monthly income both the state and individual casinos had hoped for.

Nevada, Delaware, and New Jersey are all seeing a significant increase in their gambling revenue made possible by the addition of online gambling.

Gaming industry icon Burton Cohen, who at one time managed some of the Las Vegas Strip’s most famous resorts, recently passed away at his home in Las Vegas.
