New Jersey Casinos Following Path to PartnershipsAccording to USA Today, the Tropicana Casino and Resort is the latest Atlantic City casino to partner with an online outfit to offer Internet gambling later this year.

Tropicana Casino and Resort has teamed up with the company that runs jackpotjoy.com, Gamesys Limited.  The president of Tropicana said of the venture: “Gamesys has a proven track record in the UK of providing excellent products and customer service and we look forward to launching Tropicana’s Internet gaming business with them.”

Gamesys Limited in 2012 became the first company to offer real-money gambling through Facebook in the UK.

Atlantic City casinos are in a rush to form partnerships before Internet gambling becomes legal in New Jersey.  Legalization is slated to begin November 26, but it could be delayed if officials deem the state not ready.

Nine out of the 12 Atlantic City based casinos have announced their online plans.  Four casinos under the Caesars Entertainment subsidiary – Caesars Atlantic City, Bally’s Atlantic City, Harrah’s Resorts Atlantic City and the Showboat Casino Hotel – have partnered with 888 Holdings.

Resorts Casino Hotel has chosen PokerStars.  The Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa has gone with Bwin.party.  The Taj Mahal Casino Resort has partnered with Ultimate Gaming.  Ultimate Gaming began offering online gambling earlier this year in Nevada.  It has been reported that Trump Plaza has opted to go with Betfair, but that has yet to be confirmed.

The Golden Nugget Atlantic City is using Bally Technologies to offer its own brand of online gambling.

Revel Casino Hotel and The Atlantic Club have not unveiled their Internet gambling plans at this time.

New Jersey is hopeful that online gambling will help bring new life into a once thriving casino industry that has seen a dip in revenue over the last seven years.
