Online Gambling Coming to the U.S. Virgin IslandsThe U.S. Virgin Islands are known for their beauty and splendor. But they may soon be known for online gambling.

The islands’ Attorney General is supportive of turning this iconic vacation destination into a new hotspot for online gambling.

According to a report this week by Casino.org, Attorney General Vincent Frazer “issued an opinion to other Virgin Islands officials, stating that the 2001 V.I. law that allowed for Internet gambling companies to operate in the country would not clash with any federal laws in the United States…”
Reading through the lines, this means that the U.S. Virgin Islands may soon open the doors to Internet gambling companies.

Until now, the territory had held off on actually allowing any online gaming to go forward, because of warnings issued from the federal government.

“I opine that the Virgin Islands Internet Gaming and Gambling Act is legal on its face,” Frazer said. “However, caution should be the rule because the pitfalls are in the implementation of the law.”

Despite some concerns about the responsible implantation of the law, The Casino Control Commission of the Virgin Islands says the opinion of the Attorney General is “a significant step towards turning the territory into an online gaming hub.”
