Your next online poker opponent could be a bot.Although WSOP.com and Ultimate Poker have already launched their online poker platforms in Nevada, there are more interested companies eager to get in on the action of this young market.

As of this writing, three more casinos are on tap to launch competing platforms of their own.

But don’t expect them to go live any time soon.

At the moment, writes blogger and gaming industry insider Kirby Garlitos, MGM Casino, Golden Nugget Casino, and Boyd Casino are nowhere near close to being ready to go live. As a result, all three are now seeking extensions for their online poker license applications.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board is expected to hold a meeting this month and one of the discussions will be on how to act on the extension requests from these casinos.

“From the side of the casinos, more time to prepare, test, and develop their online poker systems are of paramount importance because nobody wants to go live and then find themselves having to worry about bugs and glitches that could undermine the credibility of their business offerings,” Garlitos writes.

So for the time being, WSOP.com and Ultimate Poker have a lock on this market in Nevada.
