AGA Stuns with Dismissal of Support for Online GamblingIn a move that stunned many across the online gambling community last night, the American Gaming Association (AGA) effectively pulled the plug on its support for online gambling.

At least, for now.

By withdrawing its advocacy, the industry group for American casinos is dealing a blow to recent efforts to fast-track national legislation that would permit online gambling across the U.S.

According to the Wall Street Journal, AGA chief executive Geoff Freeman has determined that online gambling was “an issue that the association cannot lead on” due to disagreement among major casinos.

In light of these divisive differences, the AGA is being compelled to cool its jets on supporting online gambling.

“One of the things I’ve learned in this industry is we are extraordinarily competent at shooting at one another,” Freeman is quoted in the report. “The snipers in this industry are of the highest quality, and if you let that be the focus, we’ll kill each other.”
