New Jersey AG Goes After Illegal Online Gambling OperatorsThe state of New Jersey’s top legal eagle is taking aim at marketing and promotional materials that could lead to illegal online gambling in the Garden State.

Press of Atlantic City reports that the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office has already distributed five cease and desist letters to five websites that purportedly guide gamblers to “illegal online gambling operations.”

The recently sent letters explain that offering Internet gaming without approval “is a fourth-degree crime in New Jersey, subject to fines of as much as $100,000.”

According to the same report, websites receiving the letter include:

  • RaketheRake.com
  • CardsChat.com
  • PokerSource.com
  • RakeBrain.com
  • PokerSites.com

“Any website that offers or displays such games through the Internet without the approval of NJDGE is violating the criminal laws of the state of New Jersey,” says Assistant Attorney General George Rover.
