Building a new casino is no small feat, and requires a series of steps along the way. It is for this reason that MGM Springfield has released the first of many status reports on their casino project in Massachusetts.
According to The Reminder, the report includes details related to state regulations, licensing terms and agreements, as well as Host Community Agreements. In fact, some are saying that this casino is one of the most heavily regulated project Springfield has ever seen.
Although demolition on the casino site has yet to begin, there is still much that needs to be done. For example, MGM has committed to assisting with tenant relocation, as well as working with the historical commission and many community organizations.
The report also includes progress in terms of marketing efforts, partnerships and opportunities for nearby business owners, and the current number of new job openings the casino is creating.
