Denmark Sees Decrease in Online PokerAccording to recent data out of Europe, online poker in Denmark is currently bringing in less money than a year ago despite an increase in revenue for other online gaming avenue.

Pokerupdate, referencing the Danish Gaming Authority (DGA), notes that online poker is down to 8.9 million for the second quarter of this year from 9.8 million last year. The DGA also estimates that Danish online poker will bring in over two million less this year as opposed to last year.

The DGA also notes the increases in other online gaming in Denmark like a near 3 million dollar spike from 41.5 million to 44.3 million in revenue from online casinos. Or the near 13 million dollar increase from 46.9 million to 59.2 million dollars in online sports revenue.

It should be noted, however, that other countries, such as France and Italy, have experienced a similar decrease in online poker revenue and that the general consensus seems to be while online poker isn’t fading away, it also isn’t enjoying the boom it had previously seen.
