What’s happening in Las Vegas certainly isn’t staying in Las Vegas this week, as G2E gets underway and attracts global attention for the star-studded industry expo that will once again showcase the most innovative offerings and opportunities in the gaming world.
Wheel of Fortune star Vanna White even turned up in IGT’s booth Tuesday after accepting a key to the city from Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman.
So what will be the stand-out theme of this year’s expo? Early signs indicate sports betting will be a big focus of G2E 2016, which wraps up Thursday at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.
“Hosted by the American Indian Gaming Association (AGA), G2E will hone in on potential regulatory frameworks and monitoring for sports betting,” IC reports.
“After the presidential election, the AGA has said it is forming a lobbying coalition to promote federal sports betting legalization in the U.S.”
Heavy issues aside, some 9,500 vendors and 25,000 attendees will enjoy the lighter side of gaming and technology on the convention floor, where everything from virtual reality slot machines to casino patron loyalty programs will be demonstrated to ooohs and ahhhs of those soaking it all in.
