Marketing Campaign Coming to PA to Push for Online GamblingLobbyists and casino industry marketers are turning their attention to Pennsylvania today.

On the heels of new reports showing that casino revenues are down in the State once again, some are calling for Pennsylvania lawmakers to “get with the times” and follow Nevada, Delaware, and New Jersey into the online gambling arena.

Although regulated online and mobile gambling hasn’t yet proven a tax-revenue juggernaut, these are young markets with a clear upward growth trajectory. Consequently, Pennsylvania could have much to gain by exploring opportunities in this market.

“Pennsylvania’s online gambling hopes (at least in the short-term) will likely hinge on a study due on May 1,” says Steve Ruddock of Online Poker Report. “The study was initiated by the state senate last year, and is designed to examine the “current condition and future viability of gaming” in the state, particularly online gambling.”

The reason the study has the potential to be so important is because there currently seem to be two small camps in the state, one for and one against online gambling, and then a larger contingent of fence-sitters.

“The findings in the upcoming study will likely determine if there is an appetite for online gambling expansion in PA this year,” Ruddock adds.
