Mobile Not on Zynga’s Radar for Accepting BitcoinAccording to CalvinAyre.com, casual gaming developer Zynga will begin accepting Bitcoin as payment within chosen game titles on their website.

Zynga posted on Reddit that the company is conducting a “Bitcoin test.”  Initially, Bitcoin will be accepted as payment only for web-based versions of Farmville 2, Castleville, Chefville, Coasterville, Hidden Chronicles, Hidden Shadows, and Cityville.

Zynga has launched the Bitcoin test in order to capitalize on the success of the Bitcoin currency.  Zynga has not, however, confirmed any plans to expand the currency to include mobile titles.

The move is a logical one for the struggling company, as they have seen earnings improve over the last few quarters after implementing extreme cost-cutting measures.

Like Zynga, online gambling site BetCoin, is expanding what virtual currencies it will accept.  BetCoin will process transactions made through Litecoin, and has plans for Primecoin and Namecoin in the future.

Betcoin has not announced any plans to accept Coinye West, the virtual currency that models itself after hip-hop artist Kanye West.
