New Report Projects Big Growth for mGamingMobile betting and gaming are projected to make up 44% of interactive gross win by 2018, a new H2 mobile report reveals.

All told, mobile will be responsible for 5% of all gambling gross win. This is one of many tidbits contained in “Mobile: The Future of Interactive Gambling,” the latest mobile report produced by iGaming Business’s exclusive data partner H2 Gambling Capital.

The 2018 figure compares with the €4.5bn value H2 placed on the mobile sector in 2012, which accounted for just over 18% of all interactive gross win last year.

“The 2012 figure itself was a major rise on 2010’s figure of €2.4bn in interactive gross win, with more than half that amount generated by the large Asian horserace betting monopolies, the Japanese Racing Association and the Hong Kong Jockey Club,” a report summary reads.

Today the Asian horseracing monopolies represent less than 40% of the mobile activity, much of which has switched to Europe as regulating markets have led the charge and the prospect of a regulated US mgaming market means the trend should increase even more in the coming months.

“The trend has been driven by the stellar growth in both smartphone and tablet penetration, increased device capability and the confidence of users in spend via these devices,” H2 said in a statement following the report’s publication.
