Online International Poker Network Decides to FoldNews emerged over the weekend indicating that Boss Media’s International Poker Network is now expected to close before year’s end.

With the online poker industry still struggling in many parts of the world, online poker room closures have become quite commonplace in the last twelve months. And the problem may worsen before turning around.

According to Online-Casinos, the folks at GTech have speculated that the shutdown of the International Poker Network “will be carried out in a professional way that regards the welfare of players a paramount issue and the closure of the network will be communicated in a proper manner.”

Boss Media AB, in partnership with St Minver Ltd of Gibraltar, managed the International Poker Network, the platform for over 35 poker rooms. In May 2007, the International Poker Network partnered with Yahoo! UK in launching Yahoo! Poker.

As of this writing, there is no hard closure date as the organization has much to sort through and determine as it unwinds its international gaming presence.
