Trouble Brewing for BetsoftAs more countries around the globe legalize online gambling, website owners, software makers, and game developers must invest much time and attention into ensuring that they stay within all designated regulations.

Even with due diligence, however, the most dedicated and honest software developers and game developers can make mistakes that result in fines—and in some cases temporary or permanent suspension.

In a recent announcement, online gambling software developers Netherlands Betsoft Gaming have been suspended in Alderney. The details of the suspension are yet to be disclosed, but this is not the first time Betsoft has had issues. While the suspension cites a violation of Regulation 91—this leaves room for any number or violations.

Betsoft obtained their license with Alderney Gambling Control Commission in 2012, and provides their software to major players such as Boylesports. A hearing will be held in the near future to assess the severity of the violation, and in the meantime Betsoft may not supply their online gambling software to any new AGCC Categories 1 and 2 eGambling licensees as well as Category 2 Associate Certificate holders.

Betsoft is undoubtedly hoping for a speedy resolution, particularly since they just landed SBTech to develop their sports betting software. As of yet their license has not been revoked, only suspended.
